The Museum was founded by Scottish Tartans Society,
formed in Scotland in 1963 to “study the origins, history and development of tartans.”
The Museum not only displays Scottish Tartans, but covers various aspects of the Scottish experience -- culture, history,
dress, migration and military.
You can visit their website:
The Scottish Tartan Museum has a great section
devoted to the Cherokee Indians. It is worth your time and money if you are in the Franklin, North Carolina area to
go visit and learn. I have placed on this page a few pictures for you to look at concerning some of the displays in
the Museum.
